Did anyone take a picture of their Thanksgiving table?

I'm going to try to remember to do that. With the busy-ness involved, I hope I can think of it!!

Anyone else???

Oops... too late to do that.
It would be a pic of an empty table.
Our crew of 14 totally wrecked it. :)
Besides, we did it buffet style.

Where is your pic??

OK, well, forget it, then. Because even I -- the person who originated this thread -- did not get a picture of my table!! I was trying so hard to get everything on the table WARM at the same time -- well, taking a picture did cross my mind once, but only briefly!!!

Now I know why we don't have more pictures of Thanksgiving tables.

NO TIME!! LOL

Oh well, it was good anyway!!

I took lots of pictures but I was hungry so we took what we needed to and grubbed. I only ate small portions this time because I wanted to try ALL of the food. We had one 34 lbs turkey, one 13lbs ham, 2 different kinds of mashed potatoes, rice(my mother in law is Filipino), green beans, rolls, gravy of course, and sweet potatoes. It was a Feast alright. The last photo is Kailynn and her Uncle Will and Aunti Anna (my husband's brother and sister). We had a blast.

Hello Dana, thank you and yes we could have fed an army. My husband is half that army lol. He ate a whole leg and thigh, with a sweet potato, rice, and mashed potatoes.

Great pictures, Amanda. I liked the pictures of the food, but like pictures of the people even more. Everyone looks like they were enjoying themselves. Thanks for sharing.

1. Here's a picture of our final product.

2. After dinner we went for a walk through a local preserve and had dessert at my mother's house. It was dusk and this was the clearest picture I could get of the crowd.

3. A "before" picture of dinner.

I guess I'm going to have to get a picture of Sunday's leftover dinner, huh?

I just made myself a leftover turkey, stuffing and cranberry orange jelly sandwich.

It looked beautiful and I briefly toyed with idea of taking a picture - instead I just ate it.

Instead of posting a picture of more food, I'll post a picture of some of our dinner guests. The two girls on the left are my daughters, on the right are my two nieces. Heather Reilly in front is on staff at Mike Schutz's church.

My older daughter, Jen, will be going to ENC next year.

The second picture shows me at my peak activity level yesterday.

BTW, the cartons of eggnog are made by a Boston dairy, Hood. They are the family favorite.

I didn't realize that Heather was your niece. Give her my greetings.

Count me in! I have had several cartons this year. The best part about it is that nobody else in the house likes it, so it is all mine! :)

Dave,
She says hi back!

Debbie Reilly is my sister. Since my parents moved a few miles from our house, we are able to have most of our family (and last year, all of it) here for thanksgiving. Heather and my youngest daughter spend the whole weekend together and have a great time.

Thank you all. I love Thanksgiving but Christmas is my favorite holiday because I love to give. We get to eat cookies and eggnog, and some peppermint ice cream. Yummo. Also we get to spend more time with our families.

There were seven of us at a table built for six, and we have a big serving counter between the kitchen and dining area so we served everything buffet style. So, I didn't bother taking a picture of the table. I did take a couple pictures of the turkey, before I cooked it and after. I used my smoker grill which I showed in another post a while back.

We spent the day with some friends we met in Texas and a friend of theirs who flew up from Ft. Bragg, NC. They moved to Northern Virginia from San Antonio about four months after we did.

Here are photos of the people at my house, followed by photos of the turkey.

The finished turkey looks burnt, but under that blackened skin was a very moist mesquite flavored meat. After we cut the meat off, we boiled the carcass to make a very tasty broth. This evening Londa made soup with the broth, chopped vegetables, turkey and spaetzle to make a tasty turkey noodle soup and we shared it with our pastor and his wife. We will also use some of the broth to make the cheese soup (http://www.naznet.com/community/showpost.php?p=66522&postcount=1) Jim mentioned in the recipe forum. The smoke flavor from the broth really adds to the taste of the soup.
