has his Razorbacks playing #1 LSU very tightly. Even if LSU wins I do not believe I have seen a #1 team in action in this game.

Now who will be the two who square off for the National Championship? Will it be the winner of the Kansas-Missouri game if they get back Texax or Oklahoma versus either Ohio State or West Virginia?

Given this crazy season what happens if Oklahoma is the Big 12 champ and WV looses to UConn, who plays for the title?

Typically a lose moves #1 to #7 but #6 also lost and #2 or #4 will also loose so it could end up on Sunday as:

1 - Winner of Kansas vs Missouri
2 - WVU - presuming they don't loose
3. Ohio State
4. Georgia
5. LSU?

Would a SEC championship put LSU back into the title game if Oklahoma wins and WVU doesn't?

I repeat - strange season!

All I know is that one of the dominoes in front of OSU has fallen. :basic01

Must be the most unpredictable football season in NCAA history. I noticed that during the Arkansas-LSu game the announcers even put up a listing of all the teams that had finished the season as National Champs who had not even been ranked at the beginning of the season going wasy back to LSU and the Chinese Bandits in 1958 and Minnesota in 1960 on which my former boyhood neighbor and chum played starting halfback.

I still think LSU deserves to go. They've got such a great team. I think the winner of the KU-MU game tonight and LSU would be a good match-up.

Of course, once they get a month off, who knows what sort of team will show up.

A two loss team in the National Championship? You have got to be kidding me!! I don't even think OSU deserves to be in the NC and they have only one loss!! There are other teams so much more deserving with tough schedules and fewer losses. Sometimes I just seriously scratch my head trying to figure out your thought process.

After this weekend, the top 10 is probably going to look something like this:

1. KU or West Virginia
2. MU or West Virginia
3. Ohio State
4. LSU - with ASU, either KU or MU losing, and with drooling love affair voters have with SEC, I don't think LSU will drop too much.
5. Georgia
6. KU-MU loser
7. Va Tech
8. Oklahoma
9. Southern Cal
10. Florida

The KU-MU winner must play OU, which spanked OSU pretty soundly today. If OU should win, Ohio State - West Virginia would be the title game.

Keep in mind, LSU, Georgia, Florida are all from one conference and only two of them can go to a BCS bowl...and that assumes that Tennessee cooperates by losing the SEC championship game.

KU, MU, OU are all from one conference and only two of them can go to a BCS game.

Hawaii will probably move past Oregon and will certainly move past Texas. That makes them 13th, one spot away from an automatic bid. Of course they must still beat Washington. If KU or MU beat OU in the Big 12 title game, OU may well drop below 12th. The loser of the ACC championship is another candidate, and BC will almost certainly drop below Hawaii if they lose. Va Tech might not.

I was going to reply but you don't seem to understand my points so what is the point.

I might understand it, if you presented it. You said it was a strange season. I did not disagree.

You had the MU-KU winner at #1. I had KU at #1 if they won, WV their if MU won. Since WV is ahead of MU (whether they should be is a different question), I'm not sure it's unreasonable to think they'd stay ahead of MU if both teams win.

We both had OSU #3. You had Georgia 4th, LSU 5th. I had them reversed.

I'm not sure what point you're trying to make. And I'm really amused that you think I wouldn't understand it. I might disagree with it, but I'd certainly understand it.

LSU has lost twice. My guess for thr BCs championship - West Virginia vs.Missouri

I don't know, Coach. OU put a real beating on a pretty good OSU team today. If they're firing on all cylinders, they could easily win the Big 12 title.

I was referring to the other conversation as to not understanding my point - therefore I decided not to answer this conversation and get even more frustrated.

What I was gong to discuss was Hawaii's chance at an automatic bid.

Missouri's passing game will destroy OU. I don't think it will be close.

Well, we're going to get to find out.

Jim Franklin
25th November 2007, 01:26 AM (01:26)
Do you think Houston Nutt will stay at Arkansas? With all of the upsets and less than anticipated seasons by many universities there may be quite a shuffle in the coaching ranks. If Joe Pa can still coach perhaps Jim Po should come out of retirement.

Bruce Carriker
25th November 2007, 10:49 AM (10:49)
I heard Houston Nutt's name mentioned as a candidate at Nebraska. There are going to be some open jobs, but I'm not sure there are a lot of jobs better than Arkansas.

Jim Franklin
25th November 2007, 09:48 PM (21:48)
Since I could not view the BSU-Hawaii game and only picked up the results and play by play script on the internet I found out only by reading the accounts in the local paper that the starting cornerbacks and safety were not playing during the second half, no wonder the Broncs were short handed during that critical part of the game. Good reason why there were not more picks like I expected.

ust announced on our local sportscast that Ole Miss is going Nutty.

Bruce Carriker

I think forcing Nutt out at Arkansas will come back to haunt them, now that he's promptly landed on his feet IN THE SAME CONFERENCE, IN THE SAME DIVISION!! It would be most enjoyable to watch the Rebels under Nutt beat the Hogs on a regular basis. Here's hoping that happens!

Ryan Scott
28th November 2007, 11:37 AM (11:37)
I heard he didn't actually get forced out. They were talking about forcing him out earlier in the year, but when he salvaged the season and Arkansas realized they were better off without Mitch Mustain, they backed off.

I can't blame him for leaving that situation, though. Who wants to work for a school that could turn on you so fast. I think the retirement of the athletic director had something to do with it as well.

Bruce Carriker
28th November 2007, 06:48 PM (18:48)
Ryan, you may be right. However, if they were trying to force you out in October, then let you stay in November as long as you win, how long before they're forcing you out again? I wish Nutt the best.

I'm sick of schools that don't think 8-4 and a decent bowl is good enough. I love it that Nebraska is in shambles after forcing out Frank Solich because he was "only" 58-19; "only" went to six consecutive bowl games; "only" went to one national championship game, "only" won two Big 12 championships, winning nine games "only" five times in six seasons; "only" having three Top Ten teams; "only" winning Big 12 Coach of the Year honors twice.

If that's not good enough, your expectations are seriously overblown. I know it's unlikely to happen, but I hope Nebraska never sees another bowl game. Their fans and booster SO RICHLY deserve whatever ill befalls their football fortunes.
