Taken in an area 45 mins from where we live, in Belgium, just across the border.

this is not to change the subject, but the verse you have at the bottom of your page has always intrigued me. I heard a former church conference president speak on this verse, and he said the Greek word for contrite actually gave the idea of a stone pounding on another stone until it was ground down into dust. Thats pretty contrite Id say. There arent too many hearts in that condition in our world today!

Thanks for the pictures. It is good to see Hannie smiling. It is interesting to see how the vegitation has turned brown there. Ours is still very green -- unusually green for November.

Beautiful!!

Thanks! David, this is the Kalmthoutse Heide, just south of Roosendaal, across the Belgium border. Very nice area, quite large too.

Years ago, even far before Martijn could speak a word let alone participate in theology discussions on NazNet, together with the Kegel family we were on vacation in a village called Schijf. It is on the Dutch side of the border.
I can imagine that we visited this area too, but it is too long ago to remember.
We enjoyed the stay there also because of the Markiezenhof in Bergen op Zoom. Nice area indeed.

Hans, I have been meaning to ask you if you ever went by the last name of Brinker and do you own silver skates on which to skate on the canals?

No to both questions. I can't even skate (that is rather un-Dutch, I have to admit).

BTW, few people here know who Hans Brinker is.

BTW, few people here know who Hans Brinker is.I learned that an American teacher put some Dutch characteristics together and made up the story to teach the children about the Netherlands. So it isn't even a Dutch story. :)
