As Christmas:cs01 and new year are on our doorstep, we're already looking for what's next. Well, in europe for instance we have the:
Leadership Conference 2008: Being the Church - In the 21st Century
I find that to be Nazarene is to have an international, even global perspective, and I cannot give people that if they are not exposed to the international church,” he says. “So why not go to the Leadership Conference in Büsingen and be exposed to 20 different cultures? And I know that when we bring people, they always want to come back. They find it very inspiring.”

Dear Friend of EuNC,
The Leadership Conference is the event of the year for us as a College and a highlight for the European leaders in the Church of the Nazarene. Come and join us for the event in Büsingen from 21-24 January 2008.
There is a lot to look forward to as we take another step from modern “how-to’s” towards post-modern authenticity. We want to not only listen but to be ourselves an integral part of the Leadership Conference, by sharing our experiences with each other and learning from one another in a special way.
We will focus this year on Being the Church - In the 21st Century. As communities of believers we are called to “be salt and light in the world” and “be ambassadors for Christ.” It is not a question of “new forms” or “new methods”. The question goes much deeper: Are we what God has called us to be, in order to make Christlike disciples in the nations?
This year’s conference will not center on “how to” approaches, but rather on discovering “who we are” and “who we are to be.” We want to give attention to Scripture and to explore what God wants the church to be. We want to listen to the younger generation regarding their expectations of a church in the 21st century. We also want to listen to each other as local churches from various European countries share the struggles and victories of being the church in our world (locally and globally) and making a difference in our communities by sharing the love of Christ in word and deed.
We are glad Dr. David Sharpes, senior pastor of CrossRoads Church of the Nazarene (Phoenix, Arizona, USA) will be our devotional speaker for the week. Dr. Sharpes has been a "successful pastor" in different congregations and is serving in one of the faster growing churches in Phoenix. However, he has come to a critical point in his ministry where he calls himself a “recovering church growth pastor." He still wants to see the expansion of the Kingdom, but he came to realize, that he had lived and served in ways that missed the emerging generations of thoughtful/spiritual youth. Looking back he recognizes that this was not only unsupportive unhelpful to others, but for himself as well. He says: “In our journey to re-discovery of the appearance of the Kingdom among us here, we are talking and living out what it means for us to restore a vintage Christian community”.
We are looking forward to hearing from him in the evening services and the morning devotions, as we wrestle with our topic "Being the Church - in the 21st Century" in a different way. In this sense, we also want "our experts" - the ministers from different settings and from pastors of various local churches throughout Europe - to share their ministry experiences.
It is our prayer that God will use this conference to “open our eyes” so that we begin to see our world and ourselves from His perspective - and to grant us spiritual renewal so that we can truly be the church - in the 21st century and make Christlike disciples in the nations.
