by taking the Women's Ministry Director position in addition to all the other hats I wear. We have a beach trip every year and I've just made the reservation for the first weekend in May. The theme is based on the song "Draw Me Close". We have a lady who works for the publisher of Southern Living and she always puts together a nice goody bag for us. This year we read a scripture and then went to a quiet place (mine was in the bedroom closet) to read and discuss with God. The ladies were brought back together when a certain song was played and we shared about our quiet time. Another year we had communion on the beach and put our cares on paper and poured the "wine" over them...they were covered by the "blood". Who planned the W2W retreat? I am looking for ideas from women's get togethers. If you have an idea, please send me an email. Thanks.

Marsha -- can you get the story that Joann read when we did the cup exchange and post it here? That would be a great idea.

This is written for a Christmas ornament exchange, but the wording can be edited for a beach theme.

Gift Exchange

Instructions:

* The group forms a circle
* Each person is given a gift
* The "leader" reads the story below slowly once to let the group practice
* Then, the leadere reads the story a second time quickly
* Participants are to pass their gift to the right when they hear the word "right" and to the "left" when they hear the word "left".

Mr. Wright was to take Mrs. Wright to the store to do some of her holiday shopping. As he left in the car, he turned right out of the driveway. He had to go right back as he forgot Mrs. Wright. They both got in the car on the left side, as the right side door would not open.

Mr. and Mrs. Wright again left for the store, turning right out of the driveway. An argument occurred about the right turn as Mrs. Wright said that Mr. Wright should have turned left. Mr. Wright kept insisting that he was right, but Mrs. Wright said the nicer department store was left.

Two blocks away after another left turn they discovered they had left the credit cards at home. So, they made a left turn, then a right to go back home to where they left the credit cards. As they turned right onto their street and left into the driveway, Mrs. Wright said, "Let's just stay right here and shop for the right gifts over the internet."

Then Mrs. Wright said to Mr. Wright, "I hope they have some good stuff left." As they sipped their eggnog and munched on holiday treats, Mr. Wright responded with a hearty, "Of course there will be good stuff left, because remember, it's the thought that counts? Right?"
