I was just reading the board, and noticed that the date was in US format (mm/dd/yyyy), and tried to change it to to format used over here in Europe (dd/mm/yyyy). Is this at all possible? I tried looking at the settings for my user, but couldn't find anything. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
Garth

Garth,

It can be done, but it would apply to all of us. And I fear our American brothers and sisters are not yet convinced of the beauty and logic of the European time notation. Personally, I could also live with yyyy/mm/dd, that does not really matter to me.

... given a choice, I tend to -- tho' in the USA -- go with that sort of date denotation: 25 December 2005. 'Think this has to do with not using punctuation if I don't have to. Otherwise, dates are thus: December 25, 2005 -- the other omits a comma ... just looks neat to me, too.

AND we usually are aware of the month already ... so if the number of the date is given first, it's seen first ... and it's usually the info which we are in need of, anyway. SO, on my phone, my date's listed your way ... time's also in the 24-hour mode, rather than 12 & 12 ... no confusing which time I meant when I enter something into my calendar reminder that way. ;)

BUT, please don't make me go European all the way; I know a litre's a bit more than a quart [33.x oz], and that approximately 28.5 grams makes an ounce; otherwise, well ................... !! [oh, yeah ... a metre's about 39 inches instead of the USA yard of 36 inches, right??] ;)

OH, and another thing I know just came to mind ... 100 kph is approximately 2/3 that in US mph, or about 65, right? HEY! if we were forced to change over, I suppose I could muddle through, eh? ;)

Oh yeah ... yet one more ... 'think it's about 25 degrees centigrade that I recall being a rather ideal temp, approximately mid-70's fahrenheit, right?

BUT, please ... just don't do it to us ... these few things are only the beginning of the metric system, if I recall.
