I just received a 5 minute video email from the BoGS - just a word of thanks to pastors. I was quite good and encouraging and is, I assume being sent to all pastors. It's nice to be thanked!

Yep, I got it, too. That was cool. I'm glad they did it. It kind of makes me wonder why they hadn't done something like that before... or maybe they have, and I just didn't notice. :)

My first reaction was, "How much money did they spend shooting this when everyone is all worried about budgets." Then I was touched by the message and I realized that part of their job is explicitly to be pastoral, in some way, to the pastors of the denomination and, in the grand scheme of things, the costs of this video are probably pretty low for what was accomplished. Spending money in pursuit of a purpose is good; I just had to be reminded that this is part of their purpose.

In my opinion, this is one of the best and most effective things the BoGs can do in the leadership role assigned to them. The church can't be driven, but it will respond to encouragement and trust.

My guess is that they don't have your correct email address. I almost mentioned this earlier, that this may be a good test to see if "the Mothership" has our email addresses or not. :)
