This time last year the options on this poll, with the exception of Brady, would probably have been quite different:
Favre would probably not have been on the poll,
Romo would likely have not been listed,
Manning would not only have been on the poll but probably been the top choice,
Palmer would also have been there.

If we are talking about the best CURRENT QB, I would list them as:

1. Brady,
2. Manning,
3. Favre,
4. Romo,
5. Palmer

I voted Brady although Romo is my favorite. However, I do wonder why we feel a need to ask such questions. Recently in our local newspaper there was an article concerning Missouri State's two women's Final Four basketball teams. The article considered the question of which team was the best. Why should we care? Both teams were high achievers. Why does one team need to be "better"?

When it comes to who is the best quarterback much of the time it is a matter of who has the best offensive line. Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, or Tony Romo would not be such great quarterbacks if they had to play behind KC's current offensive line. I've always said it is impossible to be a good quarterback when you spend most the game running for your life.

Anyone care to guess who I voted for?

Besides his arm, field sense, and experience, Favre brings some incredible "intangibles" to the field.

1. Brady
2. Manning
3. Favre

Any poll asking this question that does not include Manning is fatally flawed.

I also think Manning and Brady are the best. I also think Carson Palmer on any other team would be amazing and Drew Brees could also be on his way up.

Brady is currently the best QB, but Farve certainly has the longevity award all wrapped up.
Brady's stats speak for him. Romo may be the up and coming star, but watch out for Tebo! How long will he stay in college!?!

How long will he stay in college!?!

Either one more year, or two; he doesn't have a choice on whether to come out now or not. I don't see him becoming one of the elite NFL quarterbacks in the future anyway, though.
