If I'm reading Facebook correctly, Naznetter James Diggs was ordained this evening (http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=205188&id=108795459140072#!/photo.php?pid=205192&id=108795459140072&fbid=116331031719848).

Love your spirit and compassion James! Your district made a wise choice! And ditto to what David has said. May your ministry be satisfying and fruitful!

Very nice picture! Ordinations are always a strange thing, I could hardly imagine you in a suit. It actually suits you though ;)
But congratulations! May God continue to bless you in your ministry, we desperately need guys (and gals) like you in the church.

True. My heart and stamina were warmed and encouraged last night as I looked through the pictures of the ordinands. I feel like the CotN was greatly strengthened last evening. MAD is a great district.

Me in a suit was the joke of the evening, everyone thought I would come in my shorts and flip flops. :) As for Ordination, I have grown a great appreciation for it while walking through the process the last three years as our district has embraced it as a way to walk beside, affirm and build up, the gifting and calling of others.
I returned to the Church of the Nazarene just over 4 years ago after previously feeling disenchanted with the institutional church. However, since my return I have fallen in love with the more organic living Church of which our tradition participates. I am a Nazarene because of relationships with others whom also resonate with our Nazarene story and our Wesleyan/holiness theology.
I want to thank everyone on NazNet for making me feel welcome ever since I joined in 2006 as a way to connect to others in our tradition across the globe. Ordination is not just about the individual being ordained, it is about the community of the Church itself. The GS may have been the one to lay his hands on me in the service, but I knew that he simply was representing the larger fellowship of Elders and laity represented by those attending our District Assembly as they stood with me and prayed for me there. For someone who once felt so disenfranchised I can tell you that I am proud to be a Nazarene today.

Congratulations, James. It is a hard and very rewarding process as I am finding out.
