Our church ladies are coming to my house next Thursday for a cookie exchange. I want to have some activities to do..games, readings, etc. Any ideas would be helpful. Thanks.

Donna, www.creativeladiesministry.com is my favorite website when I was the Director of Women in Ministry. Below is a link to a devotional based around cookies. They are a lot of fun to lead and they are very light, and easy to process. Have fun!!!

That is my favorite website as well.
I even adapt it to my Prime Time Ministry.
Now that I am trying to ressurect the District Singles' Ministry,
I will probably use this site as a reference point also.
I need some interesring ice breakers for a Winter Retreat. I have found alot of helpful sites just by googling "Ice Breakers". I depend on GOOGLE for alot of information.

You could fix stick on badges, for the singles to write their name and birth day--not year, on them. Then, turn them lose to see if they are able to find anyone with the same birth day, or a member of their familiy's birthday, etc. including matching birth months, if nothing else. If they are from various states, you could have them add the state they were born in.

Give each person a piece of paper with different types of information on it--such as occupation, etc. Let them get each person's signature that has an answer for them.

We just had a womans ministry Christmas Party at one of the ladies in our churchs home. Now this was really neat as we were all asked to bring a dishtowel. Well, we all drew numbers then picked a gift (under the tree) when our turn came around. Now, if we wanted to take someone elses gift instead of picking a gift we could do that. We only could do the 3 times tho. (Then the gift was considered dead). It was alot of fun, but usually did not end up with the gift you chose which was wrapped in the first place, but, was fun. If you could work something like this with cookies...I don't know. Everyone could be asked to bring different cookies etc. but have not heard of it being done wiht cookies not to say that it could not. Anyway... A very merry Cookie Christmas to you all.

Did I ever post about our Prime Time Retreat when we: All of those born in January, February, March, each month of birthday people got together and planned a skit.
I was in the February group. We sat down and tried to remember all of the words to Let Me Call You Sweetheart. We got up and sung it to the audience. One lady looked right at her husband. He got up near the front, and leaned in her direction like he was taking it so serious. I constatnly looked back to the right side, on about the back row, smiling so big, and seriously singing, to Dwayne. I don't think he looked up and smiled at me one time. He had food from the snack table and was "feeding his face."

My sister and Dwayne were in the same month group-November. Now, Sara, if you read this, just picture Dr. Wilma Johnson, Trevecca professor, walking andacting like a turkey and gobbling. It was so funny.

This year groups were acting out commercials. Wilma went across the front leaning over, and acting as if she was about to throw up. I forgot what they were advertising. It may have been Pepto Bisma.
Dwayne and I went into the BIG town of Dickson, and were not part of a commercial that night, because we had not practiced with anyone.
