I wonder how closely are they interlinked? One suffers the other suffers! We get hurts, shocks, next thing we know we got depression! This is why i am not sure secular counselors can help christians as we cant, i feel, be wholly open with them. I feel the spiritual dimension, the soul, needs treated as well as the mind in most cases, what do others think?

I'd say that is a secular counsellor has respect for his patient's beliefs, he can certainly help them. Hannie has therapy at a secular hospital, but it works and they respect her faith.
I don't know enough about this subject to be able to distinguish between mind and soul when it relates to therapy.

I think it helps to have a christian counsellor, as we can fully say what we feel? My faith, or lack of it, will be a big part of me!
