Some of you who have been on NazNet for six or seven years may remember the time I took pictures of a bird in my back yard. At the time, I had trapped a chip monk in a live trap and the bird came and tried to get the chip monk out of the trap.

I had a lot of trouble identifying the bird, but with coaching from Wes Smith and others I identified it as a Cooper's Hawk. The great thing was that after the Cooper's Hawk showed up all the chip monks that had been eating our strawberries disappeared.

All that to say that when we got up this morning another cooper's hawk was in our backyard. It has been several years since we say one. The light wasn't bright enough to get a good picture, but here it is.

He's beautiful! I don't see anything like that here where I live.
