What MAPS website seems most up to date?

It seems that the maps websites I'm searching do not have the most recent streets with newly built houses.

Do you know of a website that keeps them up to recent buildings--or at least streets?

I like google maps. I seem to get the best results with them. I seldom ever use the direction instructions from any site. I generally find them confusing.

I prefer to use Google Maps, although I sometimes use Mapquest and Rand McNally. All of them leave out new neighborhoods and new roads for a time. I think they are using the same map datum, because they all seem to update at about the same time.

I have always been a mapquest guy but recently by accident I doscovered google. It works really well.

It is my understanding that they all buy the street information from the same sources. Then, it becomes a matter of which one has updated most recently. When it is important, I usually check more than one site, then check the GPS in Linda's car. Usually the web sites are more up to date than the GPS.

Your resident Geographer reporting: I live near an intersection in Boise, Maple Grove and McMillan. Maple Grove has been extended from McMillan down over the hill to W. Chinden and completed about 6 months ago. None of the sources, Google, Mapquest, Rand McNally or Yahoo show that extension so I am not sure which source to advise at this point. Perhaps in January that will be updated. I sell maps of this area and it is a real battle to try to keep maps up to date particularly in the boom town which adds new streets every week for more houses and businesses. The most frequently asked question is "How current is it?"
