See mission tomorrow Tuesday at 10.30 gmt regards starting back to work. I have no idea how this will go, what will happen! haven't had money in four weeks, so a start will be helpful! If no start, really don't know where we go from here! :(

It will be a help if they start me back, nothing is certain!

Now that is absolutely true. Nothing but the love of Christ is ever certain in our lives.

Ian--
Remember, the World Wide Web is just that -- worldwide. It is not uncommon for employers to "Google" employees (especially those "on leave" or under review for their ability to continue with the company) to see what their internet posts look like. I've done it in hiring employees. My students did it before taking my classes!
We've been together on NazNet for nearly 10 years. We worked to meet up with you and Christine when we visited London at Christmas a few years back. And, I've told you for years of my concern that your gloomy posts could (a) perpetuate a negative outlook in your life that could spill over into interviews and (b) hurt your chances of advancing in your field. Your criticisms of your employer's treatment of you in the past could not have helped you professionally. Your doom and gloom posts now do not advantage you in the question of "should he return to duty?" I agree with Barbara's advice that beginning to practice a positive attitude could be helpful to your ability to return.
I know you have been diagnosed with depression and take medication. Could counseling help? Depression is a treatable disease. And, with treatment, one can take steps toward developing a more positive outlook. That seems essential -- for your mental health, as well as your personal and professional life.
I've tried to message you privately without success. Feel free to email me directly.
Blessings on you and Christine,
==anita==

So, you realize that they will find all your posts about how frantic and distressed you are and how unfairly you have been treated?
If they are trying to determine "fitness" to return to work, do you feel your posts (and whatever Google finds) will demonstrate that to them?
If so, I withdraw my concerns. I am simply trying to represent the views of a hiring supervisor.
Blessings on you, Ian,

I hope that all goes well for you. I know that it can be very trying and very stressful to be unemployed and not to have money.
Please go in to the interview with an open mind and your temper in check. Try to be prepared for both a positive outcome and a negative outcome. Remember, you do not need to burn any bridges. Above all be honest and remember if things don't go as you expect, there are always other options that might even be better for you in the long run.
Try to keep positive thoughts and most of all depend on God to see you through whatever the outcome.

They will be watching to see how you handle stress. As you know, people in caretaker professions (like the chaplaincy) aren't well equipped to help others when they are drowning themselves.
Is counseling an option for you?

Nope, costs money!

I will (try to) cease making suggestions to your multiple threads about your present difficulties.
I just had a "eureka!" moment. My confusion is that you are reporting problems. I was trying to seek solutions. We are looking at things very differently.
I believe that there is hope (in Christ) and hope (through Christ exemplified in the community of believers).

I believe there is hope in Christ, and my points have been thats there far more hope than we are realizing, but thats theology for you! ;)
Some on here helped me greatly with expenses over mothers death it was so appreciated, so it sure isn't all gloom, church works!
I also feel its important to have a counselor who is a Christian, who at least understands the issues of one's faith on trials and their affects on your life. I feel this helps greatly. But, as is right, those good people have to charge a fair amount for their own financial survival. Mission did have one available to staff, but in time new management didn't see need, maybe there just wasn't enough for him to do? My simple remedy is that several christian organisations could between them employ a counselor for staff need, well its an idea!

Ian, we have never been in your position, but we have had other things that badly needed the help of our heavenly father. We are facing one now, that has gone on since February, but we are seeing some progress. Also, Old Slewfoot has been bidding high for the souls of our family, in certain ways, for over three years. But, we keep praying, and are seeing some answers. We just have to "Keep holding on, keep holding on. The victory, will soon be won. The darkest night, will soon be past. Keep holding on. Keep holding on." The attacks have been somehow connected with out adopted grandchildren. Dwayne and I are trying to keep an avenue of contact, and unconditional love for them.
But, it seems that we come nearer getting answers, when we take whatever happens in Christlike spirit, and strive to cease from criticism. You and Christine know some of the things, one may face with adopted children. Keep looking up!

Yes so true Ann the Devil is our adversary, the destroyer of lives. Only through prayer can he be resisted.
