Don't click your thank button or you will mess this up.
I just notice that I have 432 thanks in 234 posts. Pretty cool huh?

Do you mean that you don't ever want any of us to thank you again, so the numbers can be eactly backwards from now till eternity?

There... I just thanked you...
Someone else can go find some time that they thanked you and remove their thanks.

Thanks for giving me the opportunity to mess something up without having to pay to fix it. Fewer things in life make me happier.

Go for it. It's like I gave everyone water balloons and told them not to throw them at me. Besides, Greg G. and Jon T. already clicked 'thanks.'

No it was just for a while. Now that it's messed up, you can thank me to your heart's content.

Hal, please post your real mug. It couldn't be any worse than what you have posted, and probably much better looking. ha

I once had a record of 222-222-22 in Warcraft. I thought that was pretty cool...I had to throw a few games to make it work out!

Well I guess someone "unthanked" me in an attempt to get me back to 432 - 234 because earlier today I had 451 - 2?? Now it is 432 - 237. Thanks for trying. :basic01

It just occured to me... If you edit a post the "thanks" on that particular post go away. You could manipulate the numbers that way!

I'm pretty sure that is only a temporary situation. Once you refresh it goes back to the way it was.

I've edited thanked posts. The thanks disappears, but comes back when I hit the refresh button. Anyway, it is more fun for the numbers to have been random than manipulated.

And things will float a bit. For instance, I had some extra time yesterday so I worked through several maintenance routines on the software. One result is that counters are updated for number of posts, etc. Also, there is one forum in which posts are routinely deleted, the Prayer and Praise forum. It had been awhile since I deleted posts, so there were about 4 pages of older posts removed. When I do that, thanks are deleted too.
It is our policy to remove posts from that forum after a month of inactivity due to privacy concerns. For instance, a person might be glad to have lots of people praying for them as they face some surgery, but a year from now they may not want a prospective employer to be able to Google their name and get details an employer is not legally allowed to ask about.
So, the numbers are somewhat fluid.

That explains a few things because my numbers decreased. My mild but functional paranoia led me to think that some unnamed soul got mad at me and removed my thank yous.

So, at least now the unamed soul is named, and he was not mad particularly at you...but, that really gives no reason to not be paranoid. One of my favorite quotes:
"Just because you are paranoid, it does not mean people are not out to get you."

In the same way that hypochondria is only cured by 'real' illness, paranoia can only be defeated by genuine peril. I too used to be paranoid until I realized they really were after me.
