This is not a preference poll. I am wondering how many of you think with current conditions and current forecasts think you will have a white Christmas.

there would be something incredibly amazing if we had a snow-filled christmas in our part of the world

In the last 7 days, it has snowed at my home in Pepperell, Massachusetts three times, dumping a total of about 20 inches, not accounting for settling in between. It snowed last Thursday, last Sunday, and today (12/20). The attached photos will give you and idea why it is very nice to have computer access from the house. The girl in the picture is my daughter, Emily, who is home from college for Christmas. She helped, but it was Joy and I who moved most of the snow you see piled up on the sides of our driveway; one shovel-full at a time (because our power snow blower is broken)!

Last Monday, the temperature was -1F (-18.3C) on my commute to work but it has warmed up considerably to 30F (1C).

Oh, yes, i think our Christmas will be white.

Have you noticed how many Christmas movies have a happy ending where it is snowing?

Right now, at 10:24 p.m. CST, it is 59 degrees in the Memphis area.
I sort of doubt it will snow.

Yes, and in the movies, this is true even in the deep south!

tho prolly not the white stuff you are thinking of lol
it is still nice and warm with coming chilly mornings. that means fog for us...thick fog. A couple years ago I posted pics of my grandkids playing in our *white* stuff Christmas day, barefoot, in shorts and t-shirts...I imagine it will be the same this year.

I am enjoying the virtual snow pics folks are posting. I imagine, while I am turning up my A/C, the poor souls shoveling, reshoveling, out of breath, wet feet,...ok I'll stop :basic05

ps just to be fair, this week a man at Disneyworld died of heart failure on a ride..sad..but at least he wasn't shoveling snow....ok I'll stop

they were PAID to be happy in those snowy movies, lol

being a yank growing up with the snow, I was so happy I needed plastic surgery to get the smile off my face (sarcasm)

No "thinkng" about it . We have a lot of snow now and it won't melt before Christmas at these temps . May not be clean looking but I think someone said tonight we get more snow Monday so that should take care of that . I have already paid equal to the amount I paid to have snow cleared all last winter and today winter officially begins . Going to be an expensive winter .

I voted no, that we will not have one. However, there is a chance of snow/freezing rain here on Saturday and it may stay cold enough until tuesday so that some of it will still be around. I'm also looking at other weather sources, in addtion to the news casts and it looks like we have a chance of snow on Tuesday, so we will see.

I voted "no" for obvious reason. It probably won't be a bad day but we should get into the low 90's.

I think this is a trick question for me. I'm celebrating Christmas in Australia and in Dallas. I think one of them might have a white Christmas, but certainly not both.

I voted "yes, I think so" because there was no "duh" option. :basic05

I was going to post pictures, but Mark's say it all for us. My husband says he's been shoveling so much that he shovels in his sleep.

We've actually had a few non-white Christmases, much to the dismay of our economy up here. So we're shoveling and smiling. Sort of.

Although its been mild the last few days and is supposed to be milder this weekend (maybe rain on Sunday) I doubt that we would lose all the snow that has accumulated so far on the ground.

So I anticipate a white Christmas! YES!

We're leaving for Colorado today and it's supposed to be below freezing there all weekend. Even if we stayed in Kansas City, there's a good chance it will be snow-covered on the 25th here as well.

We better not. That's why I moved from Illinois to Tennessee many years ago. No more (or at least) very little snow. :)

I don't know if we'll have snow falling on that day, but we have enough on the ground that we'll have a white Christmas.

So far the forecast is for rain and sleet on Christmas day -- if there IS any snow, it won't stick. So no, I don't think we'll have a White Christmas here this year.

Denver will have a white Christmas. We aren't expecting much this year... I think we're all glad for that after what happened last year at this time!! :)
