... and this is the view out of our front door.
You have to cross a little canal to come to the other side

The little dots in the meadow are geese
15314

Here is a view to one side of our street
15315

On the other side of the canal is a protected area where you can take a walk
15316

This picture is more close to the geese, but every time I took a step nearer they moved away, so this is the closest I could get
15317

This is our new home; it's in the middele of the two cars.

Looks good, David! No plans on developing the area you're looking at yet?

On the right side where this protected area is there will be no plans.
And I think that goes also for this meadowy area more to the left.
I thought plans are that our view will stay free from new houses just across this canal. Only slightly to the left, they will build some villas on the other side of the canal, but that will not have a big impact on our view.
But I really don't have seen the definite plans, so I enjoy the view as long as it is possible one day at a time. :)

This is the area from above (Google Earth)

Thanks for sharing. It looks like you have some good places to hike, but watch out for those geese droppings. When we lived in Denver, a flock of geese decided they liked our yard. Wow can they leave a mess!!

Thanks for the aerial view. It always does an old geographer's heart good to have the view from above. We kind of think of it as kind of a God like viewpoint.

Sun was shining this morning, so I couldn't resist to go out and take smoe more pictures...
Question: When I took tha pictures the light seemed not that red as the pictures show. How should I correct that?

By shooting in RAW and correcting the white balance. I had the same problem this morning and corrected almost all of my pictures manually. I think your last picture had the proper light?

Even though the white balance was off, the photos were/are stunning! I love the thick frost! The river that is seen in the Google view...what is it called? Are you still in Nijmegen?

Thank you! But what should do with the WB settings to get the colors more similar with the original colors?

In the picture you see the river Waal.
Nijmegen use to be on the South side of the river, but recently they started developing the area on the North side of the river.

I have no idea. I would say, try a few shots with different settings and you'll see which one works out best. And then make the rest with that setting.

In the picture you see the river Waal.

Cindi, the Waal is a branch river of the Rhine.
