I like Carmina Burana by Carl Orff. It is very intense and is used for tension in movies. I like to work out my stress!

I put a bunch of Gaither cds on -- LOUD. I like the old stuff and the newer Gaither Vocal Band music, too.

Carmina Burana.... ooooh.... I think I'll need to dig that one out.
I like anything "punk"-y... Me First and the Gimme Gimmes is the first one that comes to mind.

I have a rack of CD's here near the computer and they are assorted: Gaither Vocal Band, Legacy Five, Trevecca Church Choir, Steve Green, Brian Arner, evangelists we have had, praise music, hymns.
I love playing music while I clean and cook. I have the kitchen radio set to a Christian contemporary station. The only other Christian station I can get is mostly bluegrass and I can only take bluegrass in small amounts. LOL

Instead of music, I like to listen to audio books. When the story is good, it's an incentive to keep on working. Besides, If I am not working or driving, audio books tend to put me to sleep.

I looked at a youtube version of O fortunata with scenes from the movie 300. If I imagine myself dressed as a spartan and my duster is my sword.... hmm..?
Puts a whole new slant on the "FUll Armor of God" :)

I love Country music and the rest of my family hates it (my husband says if makes him feel nauseous)...
So since we can't clean together, he knows to stay out of the way when the country music is turned on.

I listen to music and sing all day long! At our Restaurant, I have the radio going and belt out the songs while making pizzas! At the same time, our workers will come in the back where I am, and get chips. They all get to hear the radio....and I pray that the LORD is reaching their hearts through the songs (and through our witness)! I love gospel songs, children's Jesus songs, hymns...any songs that are about Jesus. When I am done cleaning or baking, I shut off the radio.

Yep. Many times I put 5 CDs on and set it to "shuffle" -- so I get a wide variety of music from Placido Domingo to Michael Jackson (in his younger years)......

Yes, the old Michael Jackson tunes are good when lots of cleaning is to be done. Keeps me moving ... dance and clean, dance and clean! :)

Not to hijack the thread, but the mention of MJ reminded me. Last weekend, our granddaughters were in town and we took them shopping. One of the stores (which I would NEVER have gone into without them) had old MTV videos blasting.
You should have seen the look on my granddaughter's face when she came out of the dressing room to find her "Grammy" singing along to "Billie Jean, is not my lover; she just a girl that says that I am the one . . . but the kid is not my son!"

Time After Time, I'm cleaning house In The Wee Small Hours of the Morning, but I have High Hopes that For Once In My Life I will have My Way and my house will be All The Way clean. Yes, it's All or Nothing At All with me.
No one cleans house like Frank Sinatra.

When my kids saw me with a kerchief on my head, a bucket in my hand, stacking Garth Brooks CD's into the changer, they'd high tail it out of the house as quickly as they could -- they knew I'd be singin', scrubbin' & beggin' for help!

Allison, I mark you up as a very intelligent lady. You like VERY Spirit filled music.
And, for the Veggies. I know college students love Veggie Tales. Our pastor will turn 55 this year. He loves Veggie Tales. I have heard him use one as a sermon illustration.

As I cleaned house this morning I grooved to Carmen singing up-tempo arrangements of old hymns.
I still like to hear Carmen sing.

I was cleaning today too! :) My choice today for musical accompaniment was Bob Marley. Perfect tempo - not too fast, not too slow, just right for dusting and vacuuming!

Barb- Carmen was my very 1st Christian tape that I owned. I went to a concert with a friend and couldn't believe that Christian music could be so 'fun' :)
I found that same tape a few weeks ago and loved it...
I used to play it really loud when my mom made us clean our rooms, because she was not amused with my path at that time. :) ... now I pray my girls' would choose 'that type' of music to clean their rooms.

Carmen was really popular when our son was a teenager (he is 33 now). He wanted to go to Six Flags to hear Carmen in concert, so we took him and a friend.
I was totally awed at 1500 teenagers standing on their feet with their hands in the air praising God. The excitement I saw in the faces of those teens as Carmen sang about living a holy life thrilled me.
I was hooked. I knew that if my son was enjoying the music of this fine man, it was good.

Well, it's Sunday. Time to run the vacuum over the carpets and the duster over the furniture. Today I think I shall clean to some lively Spanish salsa music. Hoala!

Welcome to NazNet, Mae. How long have you been in the Philippines? Also, wondering what sort of hook-up you have to listen to the radio on-line? Have tried it now & then on dial-up, but it doesn't work all that well for any great length of time ... lapses. ;)
Hope you enjoy NazNet.

I'm a southern Gospel fan. So I put on Gaithers and have a blast! I may be young, but I LOVE the Gaithers!
ALLISON, YOUR WRITING WAS OVER A MONTH AGO, I JUST READ IT.
We older people were just discussing the other day the Gaither's and how the young people do not know who they are. Really we mention them and they say "WHO". They are serious.
I understand our youth leader and choir director do not know either, although that is "hear say". ??
I love most of Gaither's music although some of it lately is rather yuk!!! Way tooooo "country".
BUT!! who in the world are the Veggies?? Did I spell that correct. :) Never heard of them. I am going into some place and play them:) Gotta keep up with these kids.
