Ever wished you could literally carry the scriptures with you at all time? I recently stumbled onto the answer.
Many of us with PDA's can download a complete Bible, but PDAs have typically been too big to always have with you and Bibles can consume significant memory.
If you have a phone/PDA with internet access, simply point it to mbible.com (http://mobibible.com/) for an excellent (free) online Bible with multiple translations.
With my Verizon Palm Treo 700p, the response is fast and crisp.
Enjoy!:bible

What is a PDA?
"Personal Digital Assistant" ...usually a Palm or Windows Mobile device. Now most of them are combined with phones. Any smartphone with an internet browser should be able to use mbible.

Well, my Nokia 9500 isn't to big to carry around. And I have both the latest Dutch version of the Bible and The Message on it.
Jim, I'll show it to you.

And what stops us from doing that without electronic devices?

For the blessed gender with purses...no problem. But for us poor guys who need to be able to just use our pockets, a bit more of a challenge.

I conceed! :) Sometimes I forget things like that. However, I don't carry a Bible in my purse. I just keep one in all the places I regularly go and there's usually one in my car so I'm rarely without one.

I just went ahead and memorized the bible in all of my favorite translations since I always carry my brain around with me.
Oh, and I have a really big bridge to sell you too.

Too much modern technology for an old geezer to keep up with all these modern advances. Oh well.

Jim, my mother will be 77 in February. She has learned to use her cell phone and is even able to send an SMS. Last year, I bought a laptop for her and she's now able to email and find things on the internet.
And I'll never forget Nelson's dad who bought an iMAC and learned himself to email at the age of 90. I still have his picture on my wall at the office.

I have 2 Bible programs on my Treo 680.
'Bible With You" was a free download, but I bought the Message for about $15. "My Bible" was a Christmas gift a few years ago. It has about 6 or 7 different translations including the NIV and NLT, the ones that I use most. They don't use that much memory.

I have a PDA or Palm Pilot and it is the first thing that goes in my pocket in the morning. The Bible is one of the programs I have on it as well as Adobe Acrobat which I find useful to read downloaded pdf files on Bible studies, etc.
I have noticed I get some strange looks when the pastor says, turn to the scriptures in the church service. Many think I am figuring out my expense account in the middle of a scripture reading! :laughing
I find it faster to look up the scripture text on a PDA. I am there when people are still searching for the book of Esther.

I bought it years ago. They maintain my customer account on their site, so whenever I get a new phone or need to download it again for any reason, it is all right there waiting for me. Everything from NIV to the Message to NASB is available.

But they don't support Symbian OS, that the Nokia's use. :basic04
