Hi! Our church will soon give one of these to a very worthy woman. I've never seen one presented, and wondered if you all had any ideas/tips/service outlines to share.
Thanks in advance.
Grace and peace,

Jenny,
I may be able to give you a idea. I'm a former Missions President and have had some presented to people and have also seen them presented when I wasn't president.
You would want to invite the person's family that is getting the award. Also maybe get some flowers to present to the person along with the award or a maybe a small present. Also I would suggest the presentation be done in a Sunday Morning Service. You want to make the honoree feel special.
I've also seen a presentation done at a dinner which was nice.
Also make sure the Award is placed in a picture frame.
These are a few suggestions and I hope they help you.

I've presented several of these awards as NMI president. I always include the pastor, my husband in the presentation. Flowers, dinner, and inviting the family are good things to do. Get the word out ahead of time to your congregation so they are excited as well. We even included special music sometimes. Ray Boltz's song, Thank You is a very good song to be sung or played at this type of occassion.

Dear Barbara,
Thanks for your help. We're doing it as part of a morning worship service, with almost all her family in attendance and as a secret. We've already arranged for flowers and are planning a pot luck. How was it the presentation integrated into the service?

Jenny,
I would recommend it be done before the sermon.
Maybe label it in the bulletin as a special presentation just before the sermon.
Or you could put it right after the announcements which is usually at the very beginning of the service.
Hope these suggestions help.
