Many times in the history of our nation, there was a dear Mom whose spouse did not share the same values, and the spouse would abuse her with cutting words and physical harm. Some day we will see her with her white robe, walking and talking with her Saviour.
Throughout our many visits to the inner cities of our nation, we have seen the men and women whose home consists of a cardboard box, whose heating system only consists of living above a grate in the street, and whose only garment is one they have dug out of someones garbage. Some day we will see a few of these walking and talking with the Saviour with their spotless white robe of righteousness, their face clean and shining and full of joy!
The story found in the scripture has repeated itself many times. One of these days we will see a son who thought he could make it alone, who left home under less than favorable terms with his folks. His life consisted of broken relationships, his body was broken down with sinful habits, all hope seemed to be gone, but He came to himself and found a place of repentance, and some day we will see him walking arm in arm with his folks who always prayed for him.....walking arm in arm with the Saviour and his folks in robes of white.
Yes, there have been those across our nation and world who always had the reputation of being obnoxious to anything that had to do with religion. They have scoffed, jeered, destroyed anything to do with God and His work. I am convinced that in the last hours of their life, they came to realize that this IS the true way, that they had missed it, and in that hour plead with the Saviour to fogive their stubbornness. We will see a few of them also, someday, walking with Jesus in robes of white.
You and i know about one who may be young in age, struggling to establish their life, taking many college hours, with almost no funds, working two or three jobs to make ends meet. Some days it is so frustrating, because someone moves those ends and they dont meet! Someday we will see them walking with their Saviour, rich with their rewards for being a faithful servant and using their talents for Jesus, and, yes, they will be clothed in a fresh clean robe of white!
I think of my Dad, my Grandparents, who lived a life of compassion, who helpped those who were needy, who sacrificed so that we could have, who were so loyal to Jesus and to family and to church, who worked and made an honest living, and who were salt to this ol earth, and I know someday, hopefully soon, I too will join them arm in arm with the Saviour, and walk with them in white!
Will you join us????????
