Is it just me, or is the AFC Divisional Playoff today also making others think about General Assembly?

Yeah, I've been in the RCA Dome a few times...

To tell the truth -- it never crossed my mind!

Interesting reminder!

Yeah, I said, "Hey Elizabeth, that is where we sat at GA!" Then I watched the Colts run out of time. :(

I've never been to a GA, so I was a bit curious as to why an NFL football game would remind you of a GA - maybe it was the gatorade on the coach at the end? the disputed calls? the need for protective equipment?

Then I put 2+2 together and realized you meant the location. Silly me

Actually, no it didn't remind me of GA. I do, however, remember sitting at General Assembly in the dome, watching the debates and such, and saying to my dad, "Hey, this reminds me of football."

Maybe the GS's were thinking of football, too. :laughing

Yea, I thought about it sometime during the game.

Somehow, Mike, I seriously doubt that the GS's ever headed on down to Hooters for some hot wings and football.

Wilson I thought the same thing.

Hmmm, you know about Hooters wings, Bruce? ;)

Well, I could name a couple DS's wives who have a picture of them at Hooters next to the sign that says, "Welcome, Church of the Nazarene." It's just down the street from the RCA dome.

Did they like the wings?

Did they go there looking for their missing husbands?

Yeah, I remember walking by the Hooters and seeing a couple DS's and their spouses sitting inside. It seems like the only place you can get a table without a wait during General Assembly. Perhaps that sort of problem solving ability is why they became DS's in the first place?

So how were the wings, Ryan? :laughing

If that's the way they're going to solve problems, then they ought to have to serve as DSes.

Hope you enjoyed the memory Wilson. The Dome is gone as of this summer ! Indy's building a new stadium and it's a monster!

I drove through Indy a few months ago. I seem to remember thinking that it looked awfully large, even compared to the existing dome...

(When the name changed from, "Hoosier Dome," to, "RCA Dome," it lost a little something in my eyes....)
