So... I was paying bills. My cell phone bill was $24.21. It was late, I was tired... After I hit the confirm button, I noticed I paid my cell phone company $2, 241. OH MY! I called my bank... since I used my Check card, they couldn't deny my charges.

So, I called my friend, and he walked me through the process on how to get a refund.

LESSON LEARNED--- PAY ATTENTION! To think I paid one bill with almost a whole months salary scared me half to death. All is good. God is good.... I, on the other hand, need a lot of help!

Sheya, if you will send me a bank check for $10.00, I will send you some great tips on how to avoid your error. :laughing

The things you find on NazNet!!! I clicked on your website only to learn that it is TBI where Darrell Trotter works. What a surprise! He and Moni used to be at Jackson FCN, along with Jeff's family. Please pass along well wishes from Don and Kathy O'Connor.

I did this in reverse once. The Church gives Carl his housing allowance on the first of each month. I deposit it in our account (using an ATM) so that the money is there for our mortgage.

Once I punched in a deposit amount that was 100 times less than the cheque amount (those pesky decimal points).

I had to transfer money from our line of credit to cover the mortgage until the bank sorted it out a few days later.

All turned out good. We received our refund before we had to rely on the reserve credit line.

I WISH there was a decimal problem with our January cell phone bill......

Remember I was in the hospital, right? Well, our family called everyone and his brother and his aunt and uncle to let them know how I was doing, right?

We have 1400 minutes on a family plan. Well, we used something like 1859 minutes --

Bringing our total bill for the December-January month to something like $370.00 (not the exact amount, but close). I usually pay about $120.00 for 4 phones.

I thought there had to be a mistake. There wasn't.

Oh well, easy come, easy go..........SHEEEEEESH!!!

We've never even reached 1400 minutes in a single month.

I think we had a lot to talk about, wouldn't you agree? LOL

Yes, those extra minutes on cell phones add up quickly! Having found, too, that the amount has gone up (with having something like 2 minutes a couple of months ago over my limit), when I got to my limit last month, due to vehicular hunting, I began using the house phone for a few LD calls. Figured that the $3.60 I paid on that when the bill came this week would've been something like $18-19 (5+x as much/minute!) extra on the cell.

That's why I have an extra step after each daytime call on my cell ... I have a file in my "notes" list in the phone for "anytime minutes" and keep a running total, editing it after each daytime/non-weekend call, then begin anew each month when my minutes start over. A pain, but not so painful as paying big bucks for too many minutes!!

Glad they had good things to report on, to everybody & their brother, auint, uncle, et cetera, BTW, Dana! ;)

Well, it really would not have mattered that one time. All of those calls were necessary, and it was a blessing to be able to tell people good news. SO, I paid it willingly.......but MAN!! I definitely don't want very many months like THAT!!

No, I didn't mean at all that yours was a superfluous payment. Goodness, girl! Your news needed to be [meant "said" but had "paid" here instead]. But was just adding, for anyone else who may read, I guess, about keeping tabs in a little note file ... helps to not have a bunch of months with minute count overage(s). ;)

You're right re not wanting very many months like that, for sure!

Well I found out today that Verizon charges you air time when searching for ring tones during Peak hours. I got Jayme a new cell phone and had $157 worth of charges for her to download 2 ring tones. When I bought the phone they didn't tell me about that. They did give me a credit of 1/2 of that amount. I probably could have protested more, but figured that we just had to learn the hard way. I told her to do it after 9 pm or on the weekends when there's no charge.
