Just a quick question for everyone.

What office suite do you own/use on a regular basis?

... as Office, even as an upgrade, is a bit much $$. ;)

I have all three, Microsoft Office, Lotus Smart Suite, and Word Perfect Office. The latest versions. Here are my preferences.

Spreadsheet: Lotus 1-2-3
Word Processor: Word Perfect 12

At work we use the Lotus suite, but will be switching to Microsoft in the next few months. I learned to use the Lotus Organizer in the last year, and like a lot of the features there.

I do a lot of Power Point with the church, so am learning more about that. Maybe I will try the "burp" on the slide transitions, Cindy! I hadn't thought of sound effects. That should prove interesting.

... Lotus ... not so sure yet sometimes what to think of the spreadsheet deal in Office. As for WP, used to love that, didn't want to get used to MS Word, but not having access to it for so long, I've gotten sort of used to MS Word.

'Guess I didn't specify, when I said "97" that it was MS Office 97. Also have Publisher 98 [seemed rather nifty at the time ... still like it, but ...] which is probably not compatible with newer Publishers. It's 7 years old already. :(

I use Office XP @ home and @ work.

Office 2003 is not a compelling upgrade for me, so I will likely stick with Office XP, until it's de-supported by Microsoft. Then I'll switch to Open Office at home.

[forgot who said]: "Office 2003 is not a compelling upgrade for me, so I will likely stick with Office XP, until it's de-supported by Microsoft. Then I'll switch to Open Office at home."

You don't mean that XP is even older than 2003, do you? Hmmm ... guess I am behind the times; tho't I was getting something rather "new-ish" when I got this first new computer ever [hand-me-downs before, but worked!] this September [2005]. Hmmmmmmmm .... ;)

WordPerfect Office 12 is my preference. For a database and because people send me MS documents, I also have Microsoft Office 2000.
