Friday night we packed up the car and headed to Paul's office party at "The Henry Ford" The museum is all decorated for Christmas. There was live music and the food covered nearly a dozen tables! I didn't even see it all! I think Paul's favorite was the roast beef carving station. I really enjoyed the fresh pineapple, stuffed grape leaves, cream puffs and chocolate fountain! If this is how they do hors d'oeuvres I wonder what they would serve for dinner?!? I ended up wearing a long black dress with glittery jacket and (hang on to your hat Jen) PANTYHOSE! The shoes are I wore are already in the bag to donate to the mission. They didn't even last the entire evening:o It was interesting to see how everyone interpreted "semi-formal"
From there we headed to my mom's for the night. On Saturday we went to Wadsworth, Ohio for my cousins wedding. Nick and Chris (almost 11 & 8) came back to our hotel with us for the night. Paul took them swimming while I ran out to pick up some snacks. I enjoyed the hot tub Sunday morning before church.
Sunday we went to the Christmas musical program at the LARGE church Nick & Chris attend. Eight of us went to lunch before Paul, my mom and I headed back to Michigan.
Today I am recovering;)

... hungry, you and Loraine !! 'Should learn to fix those grape leaves, too, as I just love them, and they're a bit much to buy. Yummy!
ALSO, could you tell us, Belinda-Y, where/name of that Chinese restaurant that sounds really authentic? ONE of these fine years I might just get over that way yet [Lord, please, help my vehicle situation] to see people I need to see ... and they like that sort of food, too. IN FACT, we've gone across the river more than once to WAH COURT in Windsor, on Oulette Avenue. 'Wonder if it's still as good as it used to be.
This was Detroit side, right?
thanks! gina

No, it was on this side of Detroit. Remember tones of ethnic groups are all over the place. i think the Detroit area is a small picture of the entire world.
Anyway, it is over on 10 mile, Farmington Hills - Pearl Chinese Cuisine.

... you found it ... the misplaced post! ;)
Anyway, thanks for telling me about it's location/name. 'Realize there are tons of ethnic places all over that area ... so knew I could never guess where you went, either.
[wow! Interlude here -- PBS has some Christmas music ... and suddenly here, on "secular TV," is this gal singing: "we are standing on HOLY GROUND!" cool!]
OK, back to food ... one place I'd not mind going to again was Greek town, dt Detroit. 'Seems it was a Christmas tree deal at Joe Louis that we went to "eons" ago before going to Greek town ... yummy food there, too! ;)

My sister-in-law is from Windsor. Don't know the name of the place that she and my brother-in-law go to there for Dim Sum, but Wah Court sounds familiar. Szechuwan in Canton is excellent. Even my brother-in-law who's been to China likes it. Now I'm going to have to look up this one in Farmington Hills!
