I won't be posting for the next couple of weeks. My daughter's baby boy, who is due on her birthday, Feb 13, is breach and and is estimated to weigh 9 1/2 lbs. Unless the stress test shows differently tomorrow at 8:30 EST, she will have a C-section Tues. She has not been sleeping much lately due to worrying about all kinds of things, one of them being the dreaded C-section. When she called to tell me the result of the ultrasound this afternoon, she was crying and really upset about it.
I'll be driving to NC early Sat morning, spend the night with my other daughter and her family and leave early for WV on Sun. After some more thought, I will probably go toward the end of next week if she has the C-setion on Tues.
Please pray for the stress test tomorrow, the C-section when it takes place and for my road trip. I know it's not a good time to be driving north, but if I get snowed in once I'm there, it won't be so bad. According to the weather, the roads should be OK this Sat and Sun. I'll be taking my laptop, but not sure whether or not I'll have time to update you while I'm gone since I'll be busy with 3 yr old Kierstin and Austin Michael when he arrives.

Thanks for letting us know. Tell your daughter everything will work out. A healthy baby and mom is what everybody wants.

The baby passed the stress test with flying colors so the C-section will be on Tues. Her OB said he could do C-sections with his eyes closed. Krista told him she would prefer he do hers with his eyes open. We decided that I'd be more help when she comes home from the hospital, so I'll be leaving Thurs instead of tomorrow. Thanks for your prayers.

Sorry I forgot to update ya'll. Austin Michael Taylor was born at 8:11 A.M. EST on Tuesday, Feb 5. He weighed 8 lbs and 3 oz and is 20 inches long. The C-section was not as bad as she anticipated and had the best night's sleep Monday night. They are doing fine and went home today. I'm in NC at Jayme's tonight and after taking Savanah to school in the morning, I'll be headed up to WV. When I checked last night, they were supposed to get AM snow but thankfully, the weather is supposed to be clear tomorrow. Thanks for all your prayers.

I'm in WV at Krista's and the new baby is adorable. He just isn't sleeping long enough (an hour at a time) at night for them to get much rest. Please remember Krista in your prayers. She has a BAD case of baby blues. When I arrived on Fri she wasn't even able to sit down and rest or to eat. She was doing better until today and Austin had a bad afternoon and so did she. She's so afraid to be alone, afraid she won't be able to handle two children and worried about me leaving. Tonight she was back to not eating much at dinner and can only sleep 15-30 minutes at a time. Thankfully she has a wonderful husband who isn't afraid to pitch in, no matter what it is...doing the laundry, cooking or taking care of Austin. I've given her several scriptures and pray for her at night and throughout the day. The dr. put her on Lexapro yesterday, so it's too soon to see any results from it. He is so nice, he gave her a big hug after her appt yesterday and told her "this too shall pass". I will be leaving here Friday and it will be really hard to go home with her in this condition.

Colleen, two of my daughters went through c-sections, and i know then how hard they can be on the family. I know you are so happy that the baby is here. The birth weight was good too. Sorry to hear tho that it was so hard on your daughter and will remember her in prayer. I know that usually the walking is pretty slow at first, but that is typical with a c-section. I always enjoy your devotionals for the month, and mt birthday month is Feb. so much going on. Wish you all the best on the new little one, and your daughter and her family. God Bless, and happy grandmothering again. I will be again too in July. :basic01

I am back home, actually came home Monday to avoid the bad storms in AL on Sunday. It was sooooooo hard to leave Krista feeling as badly as she did, but I'm just praising God today that now she is just having moments, not hours or days of depressing thoughts. She is in the Word and praying, which will help her more than medication. Her maternity leave is half over and she is doing well physically. Austin still has his days and nights mixed up but the last two nights was only up 3 times. My prayer is that he will get adjusted in the next couple of weeks and that she will continue in the Word and prayers once she has gone back to work.

2/24/2008 Strong in the Lord
“ Let the mighty strength of the Lord make you strong. Put on all the armor that God gives, so you can defend yourself.” Ephesians 6:10-11
God gives you spiritual armor to protect you as you live for him. It is all tied together with the belt of truth, which keeps you safely on the right path.
As you go, the breastplate of righteousness protects your heart from sin and the helmet of salvation safeguards your mind with God’s great promises. The shield of faith deflects the temptations that wound you, and the gospel gives you peace and purpose. Finally, the sword of the Spirit is your defensive weapon, your preparation for whatever comes.
Today, put on God’s armor and stand firm in Him. Rejoice that you are clothed in His wonderful and mighty strength.

2/26/08 Get Unstuck and Believe
“I do believe; help my unbelief.” Mark 9:24
Have you ever been stuck between belief and unbelief?
It happens when there is no earthly solution to your dilemma and your only hope is that God will help you. Though you believe that God did miracles in ancient Israel, it is different trusting Him to relieve your present-day problem. Can He really do it?
Yet you are assured that anything is possible if you will just believe.
Just as He has worked powerfully throughout history, God is present and willing to work in your unique situation as well. Today, get unstuck by letting go of your doubts. Trust God to do the impossible for you and truly believe.

2/27/08 A Hearing Stance
“The Lord is in His Holy Spirit temple; let all the earth hush and keep silence before Him.” Habakkuk 2:20
This morning before the daily commotion begins, find a place where you can be very quiet before God. Relinquish to God as an offering the things that fill your mind. Offer yourself as well, and listen.
Picture yourself before God’s great throne. Imagine Him in His Holy Spirit temple. Is anything impossible for God?
Let his Spirit speak deeply to your heart. What is He teaching you? Do you need forgiveness? Ask Him. Does praise fill your heart? Sing.
Keep silent before Him and full enjoy the presence of the Lord God. Get yourself into a hearing stance, and He will surely give you the very words of life.

2/28/08 You Have Your Being
“You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory…for you created all things and by your will they were created and have their being.” Revelation 4:11
As you look into the mirror this morning, embrace this wonderful truth: God created everything about you. Your talents, personality, looks—the details that make you unique—were lovingly chosen by God.
This may cause you some astonishment if there are things about yourself that you don’t like however, you are precious to God. Everything He has given you—every facet of who you are—is lovely to Him.
He built you with remarkable potential and has made no mistakes in constructing you/ as you peer into the mirror, praise Him for how He made you. He is truly a wonderful Creator.
“You know me inside and out, you know every bone in my body; You know exactly how I was made, bit by bit, how I was sculpted from nothing into something.” Psalm 139:15

2/29/08 A Work of His Hands
“The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me; your love, O Lord, endures forever.” Psalm 138:8
This morning, are you pondering what God is doing in your life? You may not know and that is okay. However, the real question is this: Do you have confidence that God knows where He is leading you?
Your hope should not be based on your understanding of God’s purpose for you. Rather, your faith should be firmly grounded in God, who is bringing it about in you. Because even if that purpose seems very distant, you still trust Him to successfully bring you to the destination.
It is His able hand that works out His plans—not yours. Trust Him to do exactly what is needed to bring them to fulfillment.
