Just thought it would be interesting to get some responses. I, myself, have wished I could get close enough in recent months to make such an offer but that path has not opened up to me for some time as yet but I am available if the Lord directs me to such a person.

I am currently involved in discipling several men one-on-one. The challenge right now is to help them believe that they are ready to disciple others.
Jim, have you spoken to your pastor about your willingness to be involved in this kind of relationship with other men? Also, I would encourage you to be constant in prayer about it.
Thanks for your willing spirit.

I think each of us would love to have people we could mentor and disciples. For most of us it is a rare occasion.
I have not had a lot of discipling opportunities through the years, but in each pastorate there has been some woman that I feel God has placed upon my heart to help grow as a Christian.
Here, I am helping one of our newest young mother learn to be involved in children's church where she is doing really well. She worked as my helper for a year and now is helping someone else, even doing a Sunday by herself occasionally. We we also email during the week. I need to do more with her as a friend.
I also am discipling a young woman I have never met, but chat with on the internet. We were introduced by a mutual friend. She is a divorced mother of 2 young children. She attends a Nazarene church, but is spiritually weak and a babe. I feel as if God brought her into my life for her spiritual and emotional growth. She has a really bad relationship with her mother and she calls me "Mom." Her husband destroyed her Bible so I sent her a new one. That opened a door where now we are beginning to discuss her spiritual life.
It feels wonderful to be used of God to help individuals grow as Christians. It is one thing to teach and help an entire Sunday School class, but this is such a blessing.
