Farm Stands

I am a huge fan of farm stands. For years I lived on the south shore of Boston, where road side farmer stands and farmer's markets are not as prevalent as they are here in Pennsylvania.

What are your favorite foods to purchase directly from the grower? Or to grow yourself?

For me:

peaches
tomatoes
berries - black, straw, and rasp
and of course, corn

Corn, green beans, cucumbers, tomatoes, these we buy locally at farm stands.

Fish& Seafood, we buy at the processing plant in New Bedford.

When I am in Maine, I most always come back with potatoes.

They grow broccoli up there as well, meals always taste so much better without brocolli!

Vermont maple syrup.

Corn.

But basically anything except greenbeans. I only like those frozen or canned.
