I wonder how many have missionary hearts like myself? Anyways I just want to share something I got in the email this morning.

I met a young national pastor in an Africa country about 4 months ago through a friend. He is not of our denomination but he could be and I can say it is a holiness denomination that he belongs too. It is a long story of how we came together and I won't go into it. I have been trying to help him financially one on one and finally found a way for which I thank the Lord.

I want to point this portion of the email out because we do take so many things for granted here. Here are his words below..spelling and typing errors are not corrected.

I want you to feel his heart....read between the lines .... and I would like to hear your heart and comments, pastors included, because he is a pastor.

You are right Brother bob, I sill have many things to do in order to fulfill my desire in serving the Lord. My desire is to go place to place preaching the word, helping the world to hear the word of God and starting the church planting. But sometimes it's not easy to start all at the same time. Our church seems to bee poor, but in some reason it's not true. Today we are around in big powerful churches, but they do not live the holiness.

Ok, you can walk preaching the gospel, gather together people under the three about two or more than three years, what can some do? Evidently go away. They need nice houses. So this is the big challenge that our church need to pass. Some pastors like me go to distant church, but using our own money for the transportation.

At least we should go three or four times a week, but just one or two times.

The many Christians are very complicated here, they needed to be visited every time.

It is easy for those who are in town or the pastor is close because many people have jobs and the churches can develop faster, and able to pay a little to their pastor.

I ask for prayers, I still have much work to do in my church, they still depending on me for all. I can not go out before I can see some changes there.

Pray also for the National church. Their desire is to see the great number of churches planted, but never create better condition, the pastor must always feed his children, but how? Covering them and visiting.

As I read this I cannot but feel for this man! Do we really understand what it means to be poor and why we should support missions? How much of a sacrifice are we making to missions in our church? I am not talking about missionaries but sacrifice at the local level to missions?

I am sure many of our pastors in small churches can understand where this man is coming from... the sacrifices they make each week in that small church.

Maybe in our denomination, our larger churches should be helping the smaller ones with knowledge and help instead of planting new churches. Am I way out to lunch here?
