Just a few minutes ago, I turned down the corner of our driveway to see thirty-two turkeys in our front yard! Six seemed to be adults, and the rest were chicks. There may have been even more, but that's all I could count before they scurried off into the woods between our yard and the stream. I know that for some of you this is no big deal, but it's a little unusual here. Two years ago I saw about half that many just a few feet from where these were today.
I called Linda, who was inside the house, and she grabbed her camera, but they were all into the woods before we could get close to them. She saw them, too, but we took too long to get in position. I'd be surprised if they didn't come around again.
