Today was the second time within a year that I've received a gift from someone I've never personally met.
The first one I recieved, I understood, because it was from a pastor's wife, who's been very helpful in guiding me spiritually this past year. It was a CD that dealt with some things I was personally going through, and I found it to be very helpful.
I just received a candle from an internet friend. She's someone that I met through our high school alumni web site. We've chatted on and off for probably two or three years now. We've even spoken via telephone, and i.m.'d each other these few years.
Anway, I was sitting here today when my daughter told me a package had arrived that was addressed to me. Not expecting anything, I opened it to find a lovely scented candle in a crock with a tractor painted on it. Talk about an AWESOME suprise.
My friend didn't know this, but I've really been struggling with some things recently. Things that I can't go into here, but I have requested prayer for on the board. Between that and the family being so sick this year, the last couple of months have just been stressful to say the least. Just with my one daughter alone, she's been tested for mono twice and whooping cough once since the week before December. Since then, I've had bronchitis twice, the flu, my husband's had the flu, and our son has had bronchitis as well. I go Monday to be checked for more pre-cancerous type moles. To say the least it's been a faith building time in my life within the last few months.
Anyway, it was just a blessing to receive such a nice gift this afternoon, especially coming from someone I've never personally met.
It's got me to thinking, that I need to do more to pass along blessings like this.
