This could go in the Current Events forum, but I found this shot (http://dade3933.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d2x24jp) a good one. Taken by a soldier I loosely know.

This picture reminds me all too much of WWII. In MHO it looks like these trucks aree headed north not home to the west.

Based on the shadows, the picture was taken around noon, if the convoy is headed south, then it was taken at about 1PM and if north, it was taken at about 11AM. The terrain looks much more like Southern Iraq since the Northern part of the country is more mountainous. Kuwait City is where most of our seaborne logistics are located and is almost directly South of Baghdad, so it is likely that they are traveling South to get to their port of embarkation.

Kelly, I'm not really sure what to say. I don't believe that he is trying to lead me or any of the rest of his friends and family (some of whom I officiated at their wedding and have known for years) astray. I also saw the pictures of him in Kuwait at Camp Virginia. This soldier is indeed stateside now.

I noticed the quality of the road too. I think it was built by Army engineers or U.S. contractors to facilitate movement of supplies from Kuwait to Baghdad. I'd bet that Stephen Bouldry has put more than a few miles on that stretch of road.
