In this lighthearted fiction for women, Miss Julia, an older woman, struggles with the religiosity of her Presbyterian world, as well as her own spiritual condition.
In the first book, we meet her after her husband dies. Doesn't sound lighthearted in topic, but it's written in a way that really makes a person chuckle, if not outright laugh on occasion.
I do not remember who recommended the books, but I'm having fun listening to them.
