Not real sure who "Bob" is, but I'll second the vote for East Tennessee. It's a close to heaven as you can get on earth. We love the Smokey Mountains and all of East Tennessee.

I spent 3 years east of the Mississippi and I would not consider retiring anywhere on that side, too humid. Boise is filling up with retirees from all over and is rated very highly in many of the publications that make that kind of rating. I am very satisfied.

I have a niece and her husband in a small town called Westminster. I think when we retire there, Id like to be around Anderson SC area. It is so unique because you are in close proximity of NC and Tenn, and also only an hour from Georgia on the south. You are near the southern portion of the Smokies, and there are tons of places to see, waterfalls, parks, etc that are simply beautiful. I work for a Infiniti/Nissan dealer, and we have a huge plant in Greenville.
