Which would you prefer, and why? I'm going to buy tickets online.

I've only been up in the tower in the daytime, but pictures we got of it in the nighttime were fantastic. I'll be interested to hear what you decide to do.

Do the night time. Also, see if the online outlet can make sure it's a clear night.

I just read online that one expert recommends just visiting it from the outside because when you're in it, you're not seeing it...

The view from up there is amazing, though. I'd probably still go up in the daytime to see all of Paris from there. And, of course, walking around it by day or by night is amazing. For goodness sakes, you're in PARIS!!!!
Have a wonderful, wonderful time.

I, too, remember that the view OF it was much more impressive than FROM it. If your interests are that of an engineer or contractor, a daytime visit might reveal more, but the sight of it dominating the Paris skyline is impressive, and , er, romantic, perhaps.

We went to view the tower at both night and day. It's such an easy metro ride from wherever you stay that it makes sense to do it both. If you only go UP once...daytime is great and less chilly/windy.
But, please stop by and take pictures at night. We just got back about a month ago--saw Carolita Fraley while there and THAT was an experience! Have fun...it's a great city.

My son took a few night pictures there, 2 years ago. I'd know what time to go :basic05
