Henry’s Fork isn’t far from West Yellowstone. You shouldn’t miss Yellowstone, and Teton National park.
My favorite time of the year is the fall. Being retired gives me the ability to travel after school starts thus avoiding the summer hoards.
Here is a picture of a mountain at the northern end of the Teton Range.

Floated down the Snake near Jackson, WY last summer. Thankfully it was somewhat more placid.
Can enthusiastically reccommend the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone. Staying in West Yellowstone works out well, since the most spectacular parts of the park, IMO, are found in the northwest quarter.
