We don't have that many tulips in our garden this year, but I like the ones we do have, especially this one. Taken this afternoon.

Your title is misleading.
That should read "A GORGEOUS Tulip." :)
Thanks for sharing with us.
Where I live, in northeast Texas, tulip bulbs must be dug up after blooming and chilled, or treated as annuals. The temperatures just do not get cold enough in the wintertime.

I LOVE how it is so separated from the background. Very, very pretty. Our tulips are long gone around here. They were pretty while they lasted.

That is pretty, Hans. Around here, we've got some wilting tulip leaves, and I never did see any bud make it ... guess once it froze after they began popping up, that was too much for them. :(

Judy, I shamefully have to admit that I have never been to the Keukenhof (http://www.keukenhof.nl/nm/english.html), the famous place where all the flowers are and all the tourists come. I know I should, I guess I'm waiting on foreign visitors to show my own country

There is a saying in Japan that goes something like this. "Those who live at the base of the light-house do not notice the light."
If Hans can't get you a picture, maybe one from the many fields in the Seattle area will do. I'd send one; however, they are all on slides and I have yet to get a quality scanner.

i would love to volunteer to be that visitor Hans:basic01
i have been to Holland, however the timing has to coincide with the tulips, and my travels have either been in conjunction with the Schutezenfest in the village where my folks live, or in September when the tourist travel was not as busy.
my next planned future travels will be in Asia, shade I have not the resources to be a jet setter:basic04
