Checking for file size. I think if you click on the image, it will open full size, I am checking. This should be 1024 x 768 in size.

If you click twice on the image, it will open full size. That is what we want, otherwise it opens to what the moderator set the software too. Which is 800 x 600.

Great! I'm happy!

Actually, it is 800 x 800. 800 is simply the max size in either direction. Of course, and 800 x 600 picture will show as such.

I posted the picture above that is really 1024 x 768.

Click once, it is 800 x 800

Click again on the picture, it fills my screen at 1024 x 768

Isn't that correct? Are you saying it stays at 800 x 800 ? Not on my screen.

Bob, again, 800 is both the max width and max height. If a picture is 1024 x 768, it is like a 4:3 picture in size, right? So it will show as 800 x 600.

Now if it was 768 x 1024 (portrait size), it would show as 600 x 800.

Point is, 800 is the max size in either direction, but obviously it won't change the landscape of protrait shape of the original picture. It reduces it according to its shape.

Just for the practice, and since we do have a powerpoint forum set up, I used my moderator's ability and moved this whole thread from the technology discussion here to the powerpoint forum! Pretty easy too!

Oooh, a Powerpoint forum. Are people who use other software, like SongShow Plus, excluded?
:D

Of course Steve! The very point of different forums is to exclude people!

Actually, good question, Steve. We're currently using PowerPoint at VHCN, but it's so limited.

Has anyone any experience with MediaShout? Is it really all I've heard it's cracked up to be?

My only experience with it was to see it set up at NYC '03 in Houston to do the announcements on the in-house closed-circuit television panels. I didn't get to play with it though.

I would recommend you take a good look at SongShow Plus (http://songshowplus.com/).
They have a users forum here. (http://www.ssplash.com/)

I've been pretty happy with EasyWorship. Pretty easy to learn and use and incorporate Power Point. I use PP to actually make the presentations then slip em in to the schedule.

We were using SongShowPlus (SSP) and just recently switched to EasyWorship. What I liked about it...It has a built in slide presentation program, it works very similar to PP but not as powerfull. I do like their text shading, it does put PP shading to shame. I have made PP presentations and presented them through SSP but was not satisfied with the result. You are not limited to just two background colors like you are with PP.

EasyWorship and SSP alow you to play motion videos in the background.

I like how EasyWorship displays songs, press Go live, and the ability to go black or clear the text of the song and switch songs with the text still blanked. Disadvantage, you must use PP to create your announcements or presentations.

I have played videos using both programs, EasyWorship gets two thumbs up.
