An exciting update!!! In January I had posted a message asking if anyone was familiar with Global Media Outreach (http://globalmediaoutreach.com), a ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ. No one was. Here is the update.
All around the world hundreds of thousands of people are searching for God online every day! Tens of thousands are praying to receive Christ. Thousands reply with Questions about God. Many are in countries that are closed to missionaries and Christian churches, but the internet is open. Global Media Outreach (GMO) has hundeds of websites in many languages which gives the message of salvation 24/7 all around the world. After reading or listening to the salvation message and prayer, the person can click on "I have accepted Christ" or "I have more questions." With either response an email is then sent to an Online Missionary (OM) who follows up and answers questions. The emails are all sent through the security of GMO system.
After reading more about it, my heart was burning to become an OM. I live in a Christian bubble world, have almost all Christian friends, even work for a Christian non-profit. But my heart’s desire is to help others grow in Christ. So I applied to be an OM. I have been an OM for almost a month now. OM can receive 3 emails a week or 2 a day...very flexible. There are 100's of response templates if you want to use them and many resources to use in responding. It has been so exciting. I've received emails from all over the world, many from countries that are closed to Christianity. The replies I have received have been such a blessing.
