I just came in from mowing and edging the lawn. Usually, things have gone dormant by this time of year, but this fall has been pretty mild and some of the weeds think it is still growing season.

So, I broke out the lawn mower, edger, and blower and went to work. It was easier than usual, but it still needed attention.

I got together with my son today and he said he had done the same thing, and my neighbor across the street mowed today too.

I doubt I will have to mow again this year.

Oh, wait, that is day after tomorrow!

Well, it won't be that soon either -- maybe not till March, but then again, it could be the last of January unless we get some winter.

Not complaining really -- probably bragging!

We don't usually mow the rocks.

We do rake the dirt, however......that's where the dogs.......well, you know.

LOL

if I was there, id lend you my brand new edger I just got for Christmas, its a combo weed wacker/ edger Black and Decker Grasshog 18 volt, 12" trimmer that comes with 2 batteries. One charge is enough to trim half an acre or 6 hours. I havent used it yet, but it seems as if there is some POWER behind this one!

Yes, that is a nice feature of southwest landscaping, isn't it? ;)

Loved that ... except for the time I nearly sat on a cactus! Yeah, trimming a flower bush [Mexican bird of paradise], tripped on a rock, branch, or something and nearly ............ well, anyway, I decided someone had not been thinking when they'd planted them that close together! You have to give yourself some wiggle room between plants that need tending and those dangerously prickly cacti!

Lastly, reading that 68 degrees ... oh, that hurt! Remember what it was like out there in the winter ... here? 'Got out of grocering tonight to heavy, heavy, wet snow ... yucky!

G'nite, ole neighbor ..........
