Here I thought it was going under the radar!

Gina,

It was the 24th to be accurate. And I won't tell you my age, but you can figure it out by subtracting Hawaii and Alaska!

We really haven't observed it much. My daughter graduated Friday night, Saturday we were getting ready for her party, which was today. We rented the church and just got home. We have lots of left overs, so I know my menu for the next week.

subtracting Hawaii & Alaska from what, Greg? 49 & 50 = 99. If that's subtracted from the current year, '08, then we come up with '09. What does that tell us ... the year of your birth? HA! :laughing

Oh, yeah ... maybe you mean to subtract it from 5/24 [524?] ... that would be 425. You that old!?

Or, perhaps subtract it from the 24 ... leaving a minus 75. Oh, you're 75, are you? Didn't think you were that old from things you've said when posting. ;)

So, just what is it we're to subtract Hawaii & Alaska from, pray tell!

Oh, OK ... maybe I get it now [after nearly clicking "save"] ... you mean to subtract two states from 50, so you're 48?? ;)

I thought he meant he was born before alaska and hawaii were states. Thus, he was born before 1959.

Oh, yeah ... don't recall exactly when Hawaii became a state, but I can remember Alaska b/c I've still got one of the coins they minted long ago [not a spendable one, mind you] that had a picture of a mountain & a few other things from Alaska on it, and around the edge it says something like (haven't seen it in awhile, so might not be exact): "1959 - when Alaska became 49."
