Wondered whether it was Dallas or Fort Worth 'til I saw the 'flying red horse' on top of the Mobil Oil (I can remember when Texans always referred to it as its predecessor, Magnolia) building. I think it was the cowboy and the longhorns that even caused me to entertain the idea of its being Fort Worth.

Hey Dale..I resemble that remark! I was raised and graduated from high school in Dallas/Irving..and have never thought to
BIG D as a dirty city. As a preteen, I rode my bicycle over east Dallas streets and a few years later drove my dad's pick-up truck over the same streets.
Here are a few pics taken from some of the same places as your photos,

The red flying horse sits atop the Mercantile Building. Before the days of the huge skyscrapers, this was a prominent landmark on the Dallas skyline.

The dusk photo of Dallas was taken when Marilyn Lawson and I were locked out of my car.

The one of the Dallas Squad car is the police that ran us around downtown Dallas(with the light flashing, so the AAA locksmith guy could keep up with us) as we were searching for the entrance to the bridge under where my car was parked.(trying to find my locked car) The policeman was new to Dallas. He was from Brooklyn and did not know the city well. Marilyn and I were praying I had not parked in a no trespassing spot.

and the photo of Dallas at night was taken from the Trinity River (dry at the time) bed. This was the photo shoot a homeless guy accommodated me and let me use his head for a tripod.

and the Dallas County Court House is grand..as are many Court Houses spread over the State of Texas.

Hey Judy, did you know the old red courthouse now has its clock tower on top restored? I should take a picture of it and add it here.
What HS did you attend? My family(including my dad, sisters and brother) all went to Sunset....sigh except me. We moved to east Dallas because my parents were afraid I would turn out to be a hoodlum like my brother.:p But it was too late.:o
