Here is a picture that I just had to post. It was quite a site. I've never actually seen clouds rotating(in person, I've seen on TV/Video, etc) and here is what was in the process of coming out. Just before this picture was taken, clouds were moving two different directions, which pretty much meant that a tornado was in the process of forming. There were a few of us just standing there watching it(not the safest thing, I know), but once the sirens went off we went downstairs. I can't even describe it, it was quite a thing to watch. After this picture was taken, the sirens went off and we headed to the lower level of our church(we had a church full of kids and some adults, as a night of VBS had just begun). I'm still kind of in shock I think, I've neve been this close to something like this. It's amazing the power of nature, huh? Definately got me in the mood to begin my meteorology studies. :basic05
Sorry it's so low quality at this point, it was taken with a camera phone. I will see if I have a better one. I can't take much credit though, as it was taken with my brother's cell phone. I was right there, though.

Ok quality is not hight, but because you were actually there it makes the picture a lot more valuable. Thanks for posting!

We had a tornado yesterday. While driving to work, I was taking pictures of the clouds. We weren't in a Tornado Watch or Warning. So I really wasn't thinking about that. (Often, I take pictures of clouds) We never have tornadoes where I live. We went to our Restaurant and started doing prep work. Suddenly, I heard the Civil Defense Siren and thought, this is a tornado! We rushed across the street to the Grocery Store and went down to their basement. After a short time, we all left the basement. My husband got a phone call from his sister and her daughter was in the basement and she heard a "funny" noice. So we decided to go back to the grocery store. This time I had my camera with me. The tornado was several miles from where our Restaurant was at.
All in all, there was not much damage, considering the amount of damage there could have been. People's lives were spared. I told somebody yesterday that we had a NICE tornado! TO GOD BE THE GLORY!!!!
