Outreach ideas with my camera........

I'm trying to come up with some ideas........

We're embarking on some outreach ideas at our church; our church is kind of tucked away from the main road, not easily noticed......so we're doing some things to draw attention to our church!! I'd like to use my camera as an outreach tool to let people know our church is alive and well on Pantano road!!! NOT AS A FUND RAISER....but just as a tool to maybe introduce people to our church somehow........

Any ideas on the subject?

Something I can do for FREE for people? Holidays are coming up....

(all of my photography is free....but I'm looking for some specific ideas here....)

someone in our church did a pictorial directory and posted the pictures on the bulletin board.

Our church is ordering calendars (about $2 apiece) as calendars. Perhaps you could include pictures of the church and activities (that will probably increase the cost a bit).

What about offering free portraits? The catch being that the print is available on Sunday morning... 4 X 6" prints are pretty inexpensive...

What about momento photos for special events in the church! Baby dedications. Baptismal services, Sunday School promotion, graduating seniors are just a few that come to mind. Or, you could do some photojournalism of church events for the local newspaper. Maybe invite other local photographers to participate in a photo contest or exhibit to support a Christian theme.

Have you ever thought about preparing a presention book to show people what your church is doing. Have picture of the pastors and write up about him/them. Picture of the Sunday Bible classes, picture of your worship services and some thing something about teens. some fun thing picture of impact team thatwent to mexico.then have few sharp looking ladies with a postive attitude to call on busines people in your area. I think you get the idea

These are all really good ideas. Mine goes along with Bill's idea and the special events. Last year my daughter and her friend when to a festival at a church on Halloween night . In one of the side rooms, there was a "studio" with fall props etc.. The kids could pose with their costumes and get a free picture. We had to sign our address up and they mailed us the photo within the week. It was a great memento of that evening.
