Now that Megan is a month old I thought time to share this natural marvel of nature located in New Mexico.
you will note that most of the photos were taken at sunrise or sunset, as bright
sun glare on the white gypsum is almost impossible to photograph (it is not sand, but gypsum)
enjoy..i did enjoy the hikes..I used a GPS and had a great time not getting lost:basic02

a few more...the last one of the "Border Patrol" I took to remind me of the reason
we were stopped for four border patrol checks after entering CA, driving from
Tuscon to San Diego

You certainly know how to give this old Geographer some real pleasure when you post such beautiful pictures. Thank you.

Judy did you use PS on these photos? The first one looks like you were going for an HDR effect. I really like that first picture!
As usual, they're all stunning.......

Hi Dana...do not know how to work w/ Photo Shop. I do sharpen the contrast ect with this Nikon program that came with my camera
for the photo you asked about, (first one) I was in my "reclining photo shoot mode.:basic02"
A beach towel spread on the sand, me prone on this towel and my camera on the little cute tripod
that intrigued Lindsey..this is how the LONG shot happened
Glad you enjoyed the photos. We need to meet up on
one of my trips to San Diego and Do White Sands would be a great memory..needs be in COOL weather.as New Mexico has cruel summers.
