Post 1: The Way of the Cross Leads Home
One time I was driving home from an unfamiliar location and wasn't sure if the next intersection was where I needed to turn. The words of the chorus started going through my head, "The way of the cross looks home..." As I stopped at the red light, I looked ahead and there on the corner to my left was a church with a steeple and a cross. That was where I needed to turn. That was many years ago and I am still depending on the Lord's work on the cross to lead me home to heaven. Praise the Lord for His cross. :PTL)

"There is a balm in Gilead" I haven't really heard this song played until just now but I am familiar with the title. I think of it whenever my friend Lucinda prays for me [lot of health problems and some emotional wounds the last few years]. She always prays for God's Spirit to be a "balm in Gilead" for me. :fav11

Hi, Jan! Bet you meant to repeat the heading at the top of a new page, maybe? But there were a couple of posts, while you weren't looking, after "Saviour Like a Shepherd ..." ;)
There was also: "There is a Saviour," and then "He is born, the Divine Christ Child" [neat Christmas one, originally in French, methinks, according to Susan's French title in her post].
So, since nothing from "He is born, the divine Christ Child" appears in "Lead Me to Calvary," we'll just figure this is a fresh start, OK? ;)
*** [How such things happen? one opens several threads, then reads, clicks on the next one & reads, & on it goes, until they finally post in one that they've opened a good little while ago. Meanwhile, others have posted, and those posts don't appear in the one opened before their postings. ;)] ***
************
NOW, back to the official game! ;)
Anyway, following "Lead Me to Calvary," we'll follow up with "Spend Some Time with Me" [something I wrote quite a few years ago re the Lord asking this of us. As I've already posted the lyrics on here before, I won't repeat here] ;)

One of mine, too. When someone mentioned their first song sang, it bro't to mind a couple of things: (1) Jesus Saves (we have heard the joyful sound ...) was the first one sung in church, when maybe 9-10, and (2) In the Garden was the first one played there ... on piano. Still like that old hymn. ;)

Sue, I wasn't posting this title again; I had just put it there to comment on someone else's comment about its being one of their favorites, so folks would know which one I was commenting on, on which someone else had commented. Confusingly clear, eh? ;)
When I did post this earlier, the word "Joy" was there as well as "Jesus," of which "Jesu" is a variation, so I repeated two words, actually, when originally posting it.
But, I admit that, without the "quote" box around it (as I forgot to do) could have made it confusing, as if it were a newly suggested hymn title, & a part of the game. Sorry!!
EDITED to ADD: went back to that original post that was causing confusion, & edited it, too, since there was still time (edit button not yet removed). ;)
