Thanks! Here's another for tonight!
You would probably use " white color font " on this background to show up properly.

Marilyn,
In your Corel program you will find (most drawing programs are set up the same) two small boxes, one beside the other. (see diagram below which is marked with a circle) ("using ArcSoft PhotoSudio" here, which comes with the Canon Scanner) You can select each box with a different color that would match each other. Actually PowerPoint does this gradient stuff but not like a photo / drawing program.
Usually I made one color the same only darker for each box. At the top or side tool box, depends on your program, you will find selections... like gradient which will fade one color into another. Also blurs...such as motion blur...and also glass, texture, clouds, ripples, ... well you get the idea! You will find those settings usually up along the top of your drawing program or side. Some have settings along the right or left side in the tool box.
Start by making a white or blank box 1024 by 768 pixels. Then fill it with one those colors you have selected prior to opening a box (see example below) The fill icon is a paint bucket usually. The bar on the left is called a tool bar. Just above where I marked the circle, you will see the tool gradient fill....a tiny box shaded with two colors. That is your gradient fill which will make nice backgrounds for you....use it over and over in different layers. (one on top of the other to get special effects) Layers would be making one full box on top of another...remember the old tracing paper...similar only you can see thru the colors or previous created work, etc., by using "Opacity" which means shading effect.
Motion blurs are very useful in making backgrounds....start with one solid color and draw solid lines (don't have to be straight lines)..(make as wide as you like) with your paint brush...then use the motion blur and you can direct the lines to go whatever direction you wish. Makes a nice effect. That slide is a motion blur with Jesus on the cross (bluish background) You would start with a background after creating it and then paste Jesus into the slide adding some shadows to him which makes him stand out from the background.
The magic wand (*usually in very program) is your selection tool for copying a graphic from another background into another. You would use this to select the graphic and then copy, then paste into your prepared background. It is hard to use because you would need someone there to show you how to use it properly. "Esc" is the keyboard button for escaping out of a tool or selection. I did see an advert for a drawing program that explained it well...I will post the link for you if I can find it again.
Too bad we didn't live closer, I would teach you some different ways to make nice backgrounds. In my last years prior to retirement, I taught the girls in the government office various computer programs. I loved it and I really lost my calling....should have been a teacher rather than a surveyor!:basic04

Marilyn,
This was made using the effects, gradient fill, motion blur, layering by importing one graphic into another, selecting layers, and creating title boxes with lettering shades.
About 20 minutes to do this!

Bob,
Thanks again. You sure do make me look good when I use these backgrounds for announcements and worship etc.

Thanks John, Hope to post some each month, Lord willing...so check back!
I would like some ideas from people like yourself....backgrounds that you would find most useful? Sermon slides, etc. If you are doing a sermon series, let me know and I can try and come up with a background for you...and others can use as well.
For now, here is one I just made for Sermon points.

I know this is redundant but thanks again Bob you do a great job of creating worship backgrounds that are very adaptable for songs and sermons. I can't ever think of exactly the style that I might need but it seems every week somithing you designed comes in to supply the need. It is a great help for our people as they worship, hear and respond to the Word of God.

Bob, you said: "I would like some ideas from people like yourself..." to John B.
Uh, would it be all right if you got some idea from someone else, too? The idea is re perhaps splitting 1st half of January & 2nd half of January (or, half of each month, actually). Trying to save these, graphics apparently take up a lot of memory! So, the further down the thread they are, the longer and even less likely they might be to load completely. And one unfortunately cannot tell earlier pictures they've already seen/saved in the thread to *not* load so the memory can be saved for later ones. :(
This is happening, too, with Nelson hymn thread. 'Betting some don't even have as much memory as I finally have, having recently moved up from 64MB to 512MB. Apparently if someone has 1-2GB, then they're fairly well covered re graphics! ;)
Thanks so much for at least considering it.

For some reason, cannot edit my own post just posted a few minutes ago! Maybe all pics have to be loaded before the forum allows the "edit" button to appear? Only "quote" is there.
Anyway, was going to edit it to say that it's been a few minutes and the pictures at the bottom still are not there yet ... may not get there. ;)

No sure how this board works, Gina. I only know I wish the last posts were at the top loading before the older ones and not the way it is, especially having to click to the next page.
I will try placing them in categories in February. Maybe that might help more in downloading faster, eh?
I am sorry for the way things are loading for you. I just assume many times that everyone has high speed connections...guess I need to relocate to the countryside again to find out the difference.
Yes, just pass on to me what others might suggest? I try to think ahead what might be useful and build on those thoughts but they might not be always useful to many.
Hugs, Bob

Thank you for the thoughtfulness of trying to find another way, Bob.

OK, if I hear of, or think of any, that might be useful, I'll try to remember when seeing your backgrounds on Naznet to let you know. Thanks! ;)
