I don't think this is a marriage by any definition of the word. She loves the dolphin, there is nothing wrong with that. But it's weird, if not lunatic, to call a relation with an animal a "marriage".

Yes, it certainly wasn't a legal marriage :-)

It caught my attention because I remember reading a novel many years ago in which one of the characters "married" a dolphin. I thought it was the silliest thing I had ever read in a work of fiction and totally unlikely to ever happen.

My experience is that reality is quite often weirder than fiction.
