in Pasadena!
One band that played and marched had to use 9 planes to get them all there!
Disney had the longest float, celebrating 50 years! with several castles, a fireworks show despite the pouring rain!
Was that just crushed roses on the street along the way or do they paint them on?
And another band represented the Texas Longhorns, dont suppose many of you have heard of them (grins)!
It takes a full years worth of work to make these floats, they start the roses in hothouses to get them into bloom! Its amazing what they can do!
Justice Sandra Day O Connor was the Grand Marshall!

It rained. First rain in fifty years.

I finished watching the Rose Parade a few minutes ago from the comfort of my warm apartment in Pasadena. It has been raining "cats and dogs", so I decided not to venture out with the brave ones who lined Colorado Boulevard. Yes, it's the first time it has been rained on in 50 years! I did take an after-church walk along part of the route yesterday afternoon, however, and saw people already staking out their claims to a bit of the sidewalk. Ordinarily, it's quite an "event," beginning the day before the parade.
