in most places will be on Wednesday. It was filmed in Boise suburb, Eagle, ID and used local teenagers as the subject of the message for Birth Control and emphasizing the prudence of waiting until marriage to participating in activity that could produce a baby. I have only heard it advertised on the local channel so I do not know if I would approve of all that is included.

Later, tonight's local news revealed that it is part of a reality series that poses different situations including care of Seniors.

My keyboard tends to double up an s when I do not mean for it to do so.

Tonights the night. I normally would be at church but Vacation Bible School is on so I will stay home and to see what the British director can get out of my neighbor's kids.

Saw it in the TV listings here, but didn't watch it. Figured it might not be a bad deterrent for some kids ... finding out just what all is involved in raising kids, etc.

I heard a review of the show today on NPR; they had a guy who became a father for the first time about three months ago review it in terms of how much parenting the kids get to do.

He said, basically, they don't really experience parenting at all, they just change diapers and yell at each other. He said the hardest parts of parenting are things you can't simulate. I'm not a parent, but that makes sense.

Perhaps these kids will learn, at least, that they're not grown up just yet.

Oh yah, and I know a lot for me was hormone weirdness...I had Post-Partum Depression with both kids and yes, lack of sleep and stuff exacerbates that, but a lot of it is hormonal, which you can't replicate, plus nursing them, etc. Changing diapers is the easy part...

I did not know any of the local people or saw any of the shots that look familiar. I hope the kids recognized the fact that they better not be fooling around if they don't want to accept the consequences and if that amounts to Birth Control and keeps kids from having kids or even initiating the process then it may have been a worthwhile social experiment.

I actually got to see the show tonight. I thought it was really good. You cant simulate it all but the show puts kids in interesting places. It makes me want to get a tebow or something so I can see more of it. I liked it alot.

It will be interesting to see how the ratings show for the show.

Several of the pictures on this evening's episode were familiar to me, the entrance to EAGLE, ID, the Zamzows Seed and Feed Store and the Albertson's store.

Tonight's two hour schedule included shots of the "Westside Drive In" which is owned by a chef, Lou Aarons, who bought it from some friends of mine from years back. One can actually order gourmet type of meals from the menu beside the usual hamburgers. It is Boise's favorite drive in. I have sold Lou clothing when I was a Men's Wardrobe Consultant at JC Penneys. The shot of the gazebo in a park setting right in the middle of Eagle is a gathering place when they have their Eagle Fun Days and feature "Rocky Mountain Oysters" in the Spring. There were aerial shots of Boise that were very familiar.

Today the furniture in the houses was auctioned off and the proceeds donated to the Salvation Army for their home for unwed mothers here in Boise.

Yes, that was a good wrap-up to such a show (tho' I only saw a few minutes of it a couple of times) ... helping young mothers who really need help.

Just became aware of this show and remembered seeing this thread.

My question is...where on earth do they find parents who are willing to let inexperienced teenagers take care of their baby for three days?

I wouldn't be handing over any precious child of mine.

The local news gave some highlights of tonight's program which I did not see because I was being interviewed by a local preachers licensee at church. What was shown that was familiar to me was that the cemetery that was shown is where my dad and mother, dad's first wife and my half brother and sister are all buried. The local news also showed a couple of the participants being interviewed at the Senior Citizens Center in Meridian, ID where I have gone to at times.

Barbara, I think the answer to your question is that some folks will do most anything to get their mug on TV. However, there were nannies close by within the house.

Knowing what I know about Reactive Attachment Disorder, I think those parents are totally out of their minds in doing such a thing. It's one thing to leave your kid with someone they know while you get some time away, but turning them over to inexperienced strangers is just plain nuts, IMO.

I only saw the first show and part of this week's. On the first one, the parents did get to watch on closed circuit TV and could intervene if they really felt it was necessary, but I thought some of the interventions were pretty ridiculous, too. None of it was anywhere close to reality, but according to last night's show, all of the couples split up and decided to wait on having kids. I guess it did accomplish its purpose.
